COMBATTING ANTISEMITISM, HATE AND EXTREMISM BILL 2026

 

I believe this is a pretty succinct summary of why One Nation shall not be supporting the proposed new censorship legislation. As most would have expected, One Nation was the first party to do so. 

 

The idea that you might go to jail because someone in their view sees your views as threatening, is too dangerous for me to vote for. I understand the statement by genuine interests to not make perfect the enemy of the good but in a short period of time this legislation’s effects will be far from good when utilised by those with a sectarian motivation in fringe issues. 

 

Why can’t Labor just focus on the problem; it is Islamic Fundamentalism which can justify the murder of families on a beach in Sydney. Islamic people in Iran have a similar problem with Islamic Fundamentalism. 

 

But Labor can’t help themselves, they go to the top draw of their pet projects and staple them to the proposed legislation. Now there is a net that catches all rather than fishes for the problem. 

 

They have a problem that needed a solution, extremism, but prescribed a treatment for those who were never ill. Farmers, recreational hunters, church goers, those who believe in the public forum of discussion, all apparently in cahoots with mass murderers of innocent families at Bondi Beach. 

 

This bill is not an omnibus bill it is a bus crash. It has done something remarkable in uniting, the Anglican Church with the Islamic Council; the Greens with One Nation. Only Labor could achieve something that spectacularly idiotic.
