Federal Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, said the Liberal and Nationals Government’s investment in local projects under Round 3 will help grow the economy and build a strong future for Australia’s regions.

“These are major projects that will support the growth and continued prosperity of towns and villages across the New England electorate,” Mr Joyce said.

“From Inverell to Scone, Tamworth, Glen Innes and everywhere in between, we are funding local infrastructure that will become crucial to the long term viability of our region, encouraging new people to call us home and established residents to stay.

“I am always striving to deliver a better standard of living for people living in rural and regional areas like our own and these new projects will help deliver that.”

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the Liberal and Nationals Government is committed to ensuring Australia’s regions remain strong, resilient and prosperous in the long term.

“We are supporting our regions through investing in important local infrastructure, as well as great community-building and planning initiatives under the Building Better Regions Fund and other Government priorities such as the Regional Growth Fund and our decentralisation agenda,” Mr McCormack said.
