Music: Count Us In comes to the New England Electorate

23 Sep 2015

FEDERAL Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce said more than 2,000 schools, nation-wide, are expected to sign up to sing ‘the song that stops the nation’ on Thursday, 29 October.

Mr Joyce said Music: Count Us In is an initiative of the Australian government and is the nation’s biggest school program which has been supported by the department of Education and Training since 2006.

He said last year about 1,000 students and their supporters filled the Great Hall of Parliament House with song.

“The organisers would be delighted to welcome more schools from the New England Electorate to join this free music program,” he said.

“The program is open to all schools but is particularly suited to primary schools.”
