Greater access to government services in New England

Greater access to government services in New England

04 Mar 2021

The Services Australia Mobile Service Centre Golden Wattle will continue its NSW travels into the New England region this month.

Mobile Service Centres deliver easy access to essential government services such as Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services for people in rural and regional areas.

Member for New England Barnaby Joyce said no appointment was necessary for this free Australian Government service.

“The staff on-board Golden Wattle ensure people can get the same experience that they would at a regular service centre. This includes face-to-face assistance with many of the main government services,” Mr Joyce said.

“If you have a question, stop by and ask the team who will be happy to help.”

The Mobile Service Centre trucks have travelled more than 907,000 kilometres since their debut in 2006. During this time, they have visited more than 5,200 communities and assisted almost 160,000 customers.

All of the services provided on Golden Wattle are offered with strict COVID-19 safety precautions in place.
