For the fourth consecutive parliament, the Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce has been named the most responsive MP.
The honour is based on MP responses to correspondence and the assistance they provide as monitored by the Votergram service.
Founding Executive Director, Greg Bloomfield said Mr Joyce’s record of responses is truly astounding.
“For every parliament since Mr Joyce was first elected as the Member for New England in 2013, he has outperformed all other Federal MPs, from all sides of politics with his responses.
“To highlight his performance even further, Mr Joyce’s responses to Votergrams during the most recent parliament, were four times as good as his nearest rivals,” Mr Bloomfield said.
“The ability of voters to gain their MP’s attention is important.
“It is the essence of democracy and restores voters’ confidence in the democratic process,” Mr Bloomfield said.
Mr Joyce said. “I am honoured to have received the award for the fourth consecutive parliament, especially when it comes from simply doing my job.
“Special mention should be made of my staff for the outstanding support they provide.
“I am committed to serving the people of New England to the best of my ability and will continue to do so should I be re-elected this Saturday.
“I encourage everyone to ensure they number every square on the green ballot paper and to closely follow the instructions for the white ballot paper,” Mr Joyce said.
