How do I see Easter

Every time you look at the universe, all those stars, all that immenseness, beyond our comprehension, all that physics, chemistry, mathematics, genetics. The probability of our existence is so ridiculously small. 

Something we can’t comprehend but so many, I can’t understand why, clumsily say “oh it just happened”; well, that is the biggest miracle you could ever believe in. 

So, if something is out there it must get lonely and loneliness is resolved by love and love needs two parties. 

So, God made humankind and Jesus himself was a person in that form. He created a connection to his creation and showed the most ultimate sacrifice to speak to that connection between God and humankind. 

No dolphin, orca, dog thinks of God but every form of culture in human history does and it has done so independent and so often unaware of each other’s culture in its own distinct corner of the world. 

Easter says God wants us to work on faith not proof. If Jesus walked into your living room, you are no longer free and you can’t love what is an indisputable authority. God wants love from us not terrified adherence. 

We are told of God talking to humankind in the real human experience of Jesus. We are told of Jesus eating with others and walking with them after he had moved beyond death. He was who he was before but then again after. He was not a spirit but a real person after His death, alive again as a person walking beside you, that is resurrection, we are who we are and will be for eternity. What you are before is what you will be, so be your best. 

So don’t work on proof, but you have logic and statistical probability to guide belief. If it is an infinite unlikely probability, then the almighty is the infinite. For so many it is the gut feeling that says there is God and that is enough. 

How would It, God, talk to you in a vacuum of existence, in a prism of eternity, then to become like you and to do so in a way that says there is no proof, there is only faith. There is no authoritarian demand, there is love directed by faith. No one will stay in a relationship of threat, they stay of free will in a relationship of love. 

The crucifixion of God by man is so complicated but so terrifying. If the creator of the universe, of all the rules from atoms, stars, to biology becomes man and states it is a relationship, not of compulsion but love with us, to the extent that it puts Its own form to be subject to our outrageous brutality, then we have the reason to stop and in a existential profoundness consider our existence.
