29 Mar 2021

Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, has encouraged eligible people in Tenterfield and Glen Innes to get their COVID-19 vaccinations from today.

“The Primary Health Network (PHN) has advised that Tenterfield has two practices that will be administering the COVID-19 jab – one of them begins today, while the other commences vaccinations a fortnight later on Monday 12 April, 2021,” Mr Joyce said.

Mr Joyce said vaccinations will also take place in Glen Innes at two practices.

“One practice will be vaccinating patients as of today, while the other practice will assist patients to have the jab next Monday,” Mr Joyce said.

The PHN is publishing the names of the practices after they complete their relevant training processes and have received their vaccines.

People can check their eligibility and find a practice at:

Mr Joyce said the COVID-19 rollout is in Phase 1b.

“Generally, you are eligible if you are aged 70 years and over, you are classed as ‘Other health care worker’, an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander 55 years of age and over, an adult with a specified medical condition, an adult with a disability who has a specified underlying medical condition, or a critical and high risk worker including those in defence, police, fire, emergency services and meat processing,” Mr Joyce said.
