COMMUNITY GROUPS TO BENEFIT FROM FUNDING

Fourteen community groups across the New England will share in $133,720 to undertake a range of projects to build community engagement and participation, the Federal Member for New England Barnaby Joyce MP said today.

“It has been a pleasure for me to work with these organisations through the project assessment process which involved working with an independent local panel. I have been able to see firsthand the diverse needs and innovative ideas within our communities, ensuring every dollar spent has maximum local impact”, said Mr Joyce

“Community organisations such as the Tenterfield School of Arts and the Merriwa and District Rescue Squad will receive much needed funds for grassroot initiatives that will result in real benefits for our community and the electorate of New England.

"These grassroot initiatives will deliver practical improvements, ranging from facility upgrades and equipment purchases to community infrastructure enhancements that significantly benefit our local residents.

"Local community groups are the heart and soul of our regional towns, suburbs and communities. Their dedication and tireless efforts improve our social fabric, enhance our local amenities, foster community spirit, and I thank them for their efforts.

"I congratulate all successful applicants for their vision and commitment to making the New England a better place and look forward to seeing the results of their hard work," Mr Joyce said.
