Member for New England, Barnaby Joyce, is encouraging local not-for-profit groups to consider applying for funding under the Volunteer Grants Program.
Mr Joyce said, Volunteer Grants support the work of local community organisations by reducing barriers for volunteers.
“Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 will be available to assist eligible not-for-profit community organisations that rely on volunteers,” Mr Joyce said.
“Grants can be used to purchase communication or insurance items and/or purchase items or services to assist volunteers or volunteer-run activities.
“As your local member, I have seen the impact of volunteering here in New England and how the hard work of local volunteers continues to strengthen our community.
“I’m proud of the work undertaken by community organisations in New England, supporting both businesses and families,” Mr Joyce said.
“New England is home to thousands of volunteers who never ask for thanks or receive recognition.
“The Volunteer Grants Program helps to ensure they’re acknowledged and have everything they need to continue their vital work.
